The year is 2009. Five shoe lovers from Berlin gather after work to bring leather shoes to the gentlemen of the nation. Her passion culminates in her own brand, whose products will be sold exclusively on the Internet – the idea for Shoepassion was born.
Berlin, present. 2020 is a year that should look a little different for the Berlin footwear company. But then came the Corona and you had to rethink it. Facilities at the Ackerhallen in Berlin were empty overnight. It was even worse with stores all over Germany. Short work and home office not only defined the daily life of the Shoepassion team from spring onwards, but forced the whole country to relive the familiar and change plans in a very short time.

The passion for shoes writes history
When the brand went online with 23 models on shoepassion.de in February 2010 after an initial test phase, a shoe lovers’ blog turned out to be a real Online Store. The company was controlled by Greifswalder Straße in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg – office, call center, warehouse and dispatch center in one.

For three years, Shoepassion has maintained a steadily growing online shipping service for Goodyear “Made in EU” men’s shoes from there. In 2013 the company finally succumbed to customer pressure and was reoriented. With your first Buy on Ackerstrasse in Berlin in the middle was found the new headquarters. Beyond that, the former online net player operates as an omnichannel company from that time until today. This was followed by the expansion of warehouses and customer service in the Berlin Marzahn and the expansion of stores throughout Germany. Even in Poland, Austria and Switzerland there were or are now their own branches.
Tradition meets modernity
The acquisition was certainly a bold experiment by the traditional Heinrich Dinkelacker company. In 2016, the exclusive name from Bietigheim-Bissingen not only brought a good help to history, but also brought one or two obstacles to Berlin. Four years later, however, we now see ourselves as a family continuing to learn from each other under the umbrella of the Shoepassion Group. After Heinrich Dinkelacker celebrated his 140th birthday in 2019, Shoepassion’s 10th anniversary was to be celebrated in 2020. But how do you celebrate when everyone is encouraged to stay home and the whole world is fighting a pandemic?

Well, shoepassion would not be shoepassion if you did not reprogram and learn from the successes. Heinrich Dinkelacker’s Silver Edition had already been successfully sold last year via Kickstarter. So it made sense to use more customer time at home and also the Shoepassion anniversary collection to be offered through the crowdfunding platform. While Dinkelacker had designed completely new models, Shoepassion once again followed the wishes of its customers. Six bestsellers from the very first collection since 2010 have been reissued for this purpose, some of which are no longer in the range today. What is new then, one might ask.

Apart from the repetitive, subtle red details, all the models are decorated with exclusive leather, which, how could it be otherwise, was previously intended for the luxurious models of Heinrich Dinkelacker. Shoepassion had already achieved the campaign goal after 4 days, although it is scheduled for December 6.
